PROJECTS

• Company Intranet
  Purpose: Design and build a custom intranet site that is easily maintainable and contains relevant information to employees.
  Contribution: Designed entire site from the ground up around a set of core code that provided the dynamic information delivery of the site. Edit and post streaming videos of company events and relevant newscasts. The intranet was redesigned on an annual basis.
• Corporate Website Launches (www.cyberonics.com/www.vnstherapy.com)
  Purpose: Launch new websites that were consistent with the current marketing campaigns.
  Contribution: Worked with the internal marketing team and outside vendors during site planning and design, transferred content from old website to the new as necessary, reprogrammed various components to conform to Cyberonics' web environment and launched the website for public viewing.
• Employee Recognition Program
  Purpose: To connect the employees by acknowledging their accomplishments individually and as a group through peer nomination.
  Contribution: Designed the logo, and internal marketing materials as well as designed the internal website for online nominations.
• Traceability Scanning Project
  Purpose: To allow the document control department to scan in over 3 million documents (comprising 4.2 TB of data) by using a barcode system that had the capability to import into the company's electronic document management system versus a manual process.
  Contribution: Worked with an outside vendor to implement the system. Monitored the system to ensure that the documents were being imported properly
• Human Resources Management System (HRMS) Launch
  Purpose: The HRMS project team needed a way to introduce the new human resources system that managed the employee's personal information and benefits to move towards a paperfree environment.
  Contribution: Created a web "portal" to give the employees a way to access the new HR system.
• Corporate Wiki
  Purpose: To create an online resource for employees to communicate common issues with applications and project status.
  Contribution: Implemented an online resource for communication using MediaWiki.
• Implementation of a Content Management System for the Corporate Intranet Site
  Purpose: To allow key contact points in each department to manage their documents on the intranet.
  Contribution: Create a link between the content management system which allowed the key contacts to add/remove documents on the intranet without having to contact the e-Business team. Also created training material and trained each employee on how to use the new process as well as provided continued support.
• Interwoven Client/Server Upgrade
  Purpose: The electronic document management system required server and client upgrades to be able to utilize new features.
  Contribution: Helped plan and execute company-wide (300+) client upgrades and primary server upgrades. Also created training materials to assist users transition to the new client version.
• Learning Management System Launch
  Purpose: Select, implement and validate a corporate web based learning management system. Contribution: Member of a 22-person project team that selected the system. Member of the 4-person team that implemented and validated the system to the FDA 21 CFR 11 standard. After project launch, worked closely with 10 Training Coordinators from various departments to design and implement HTML based courseware.
• New Hire Program
  Purpose: To distribute new hire information in a way that it will be easy for a new employee to begin their employment at Cyberonics.
  Contribution: Created web-based CDs for distribution to new hires which included instructions and all the documentation needed for employment and benefits.

  Active Member in the Marketing and Communication Committee
  The committee's purpose is to communicate events and opportunities to the student body at the University of Texas. Also created flyers and logos for events.
• Texas Dragon Boat Association (2004-Present)
  Webmaster
  Maintain the website content through the year, create flyers for each event and assist in working with each team on managing their practices and getting information that they need to race. Also worked closely with the University of Houston - Clear Lake graphics department to give the students an opportunity to create new event logos used every season.
• Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Texas (2002-Present)
  Active Fundraiser - Team Lead for Information Technology
  Organized several company-wide fundraising events for the IT department as well as assisted other departments in marketing their events by creating flyers and communicating it to the rest of the company via the intranet and email blasts.
